The air purifiers NIVE AIR are the only ones currently on the market, using the "STATE-OF-THE-ART" technology; the latest and most advanced technology used in the NASA aerospace stations.

This system, active at 24 hours out of 24, is able to eliminate more than 95% of viruses, bacteria and mold in the environment, already during the first 90 minutes of its use.


After a decade-lasting research in Aereobiologia and Biotechnology, an air purification system has been developed that uses an advanced Photo Hydrated Catalytic Oxidation.

Unlike other purification systems on the market, NIVE AIR does not only purify the air that passes through the catalyst, but releases into the air a thick cover of ROS molecules (Reactive Oxygen), which purify the whole air in the environment. NIVE AIR, produces a cover of hydroxide ions, radicals, peroxide radicals, hydrogen peroxides that, by the interaction with light and air humidity, trigger a decompositional reaction of noxious organic and inorganic substances, leaving in the air only oxygen and hydrogen molecules.

This technology does not rely on filters and is virtually maintenance free. In fact, in many circumstances, it reduces contaminants more efficiently than a HEPA (high efficiency anti-particle filters) and is greatly lowering the replacement costs, as the air is neither filtered nor forced into discerning fans or big purifiers.

The technology used by NIVE AIR attacks and destroys quickly and effectively the microorganisms harmful to humans by taking advantage of the extraordinary biochemical processes.


The working principle is an absolutely natural phenomenon similar to that which occurs during a thunderstorm.



NIVE AIR uses an innovative technology that, by doping the TiO2 surface with Gold, Silver, Copper, Rhodium and the new nano-molecule nickel, reduces the size of the metal particles in order to increase the surface and to thus increase the kinetic rate of reaction.


The effect of the dopants on the surface of TiO2 does increase the lifetime of the generated hydroxyl radicals, when it is exposed to UV radiation.

The metallic copper works as a center of electron accumulation, thus disfavoring the recombination of these radicals.Two hydrophilic gels, being coated in a mono-electrode way, serve to moisturize the coating and to react in combination with all the metallic catalysts to decompose ozone (by yielding hydrogen to the ozone) and to form radical hydroxyl ions, as well as hydro peroxides such as hydrogen peroxide and HO2 radicals, that are the desired reaction products from the decomposition of ozone due to their strong oxidizing properties, which together with the UV-C radiation increases the germicidal effect.


This technology simply produces a mist of catalytic molecules that clean not only the air, but also sanitize surfaces.


The hydrated catalytic cell coated with quad-nano at 860 centigrades, provides maximum exposure to the catalysts.

The lamp is a HE / UV Broad Spectrum Lamp with a heavy-duty filament at broad-spectrum and long-lasting coating which uses the short wavelength of UV rays (254 nm) that is harmful to life forms of micro-biological level, because it is effective in destroying the nucleic acids in these organisms.

As a microorganism passes over the UV lamp, UV-C light penetrates the membrane and alters its genetic material (DNA).

With altered DNA, the microorganism is no longer able to reproduce, because it is microbiologically devitalized.

The permissible dose of ultraviolet light is 6.0 mW-sec/cm2, which is the maximum allowable exposure time (PET, performance evaluation tests), NIVE AIR is considerably below this value.

Ozone levels were between 0.01 and 0.02 ppm.



How does NIVE AIR work?


The UV germicidal lamp destroys germs that pass through the UV-C light rays.

The rays of light of the UV lamp react with the nano catalyst nickel producing catalytic molecules.

The catalytic molecules identify and destroy the carbon-based molecules by converting them into harmless carbon dioxide and water.



The titanium dioxide and the natural titanium oxide, whose chemical formula is TiO2, is considered to be a safe and harmless substance for human health and is commonly used in industrial production.

The titanic dioxide, in the form of Anatase, one of three different crystal structures of TiO2, is the most common photo-catalyst and has the following advantages of high photocatalytic efficiency and total non-toxicity.

The product has biocidal properties and, following the regulations and laws controlling its application areas, can be considered a warrant for a complete sterilization.



Photocatalysis is a natural phenomenon whereby a substance, called a photocatalyst (ll TiO2) by the action of light (natural or artificial) changes the speed of a chemical reaction; its function mimicking photosynthesis.

The chemical process that lies at its base, is in fact oxidation started by the combined action of light (solar or industrial / artificial) and air humidity.

The two elements (light and air), in contact with the coating of the surfaces, trigger the chemical reaction and the subsequent decomposition of organic and inorganic substances.



Especially because of its strong oxidative capacity, the photocatalytic oxidation can effectively disinfect, deodorize and purify the air, water and other surfaces, the photocatalyst doesn’t only kill the cells of the bacteria but decomposes them. It has been verified that the titanium dioxide is more effective than any other antibacterial agent, because the photocatalytic reaction takes place even when there are cells that cover the surfaces and the proliferation of bacteria is active:

Activating itself on the surface and bypassing the biofilm created by bacteria is effective where conventional chemical sanitizers are under-performing.

Moreover, even the endotoxin, resulting from the death of the cell, is decomposed thanks to the photocatalytic action. Titanium dioxide does not deteriorate and shows an antibacterial and virucidal long term effect. In general, the disinfection, by means of titanium dioxide, is three times more effective than that obtained with chlorine and 1.5 times more than with ozone.

In a manner similar to bacteria, viruses are destroyed too. Viruses such as HIV, are generally susceptible to the devastating effects of photosensitivity.







The photocatalytic oxidation, essentially, may be summarized as

an intense light that is reflected on a metal surface and that, in turn,

oxidizes toxins; it is defined as the acceleration of a photoreaction

in the presence of a catalyst; this type of technology converts toxic

particles and harmful gases in safer compounds like carbon dioxide

and water.







As for the light, it is very important that its presence is at a very high energy level; in particular, what has proven to be very effective, for the disinfection, is a radiation with a wavelength of 254nm.

This destroys microorganisms by changing the genetic information in their DNA and/or RNA. The simple lighting of fluorescent lamps at full solar spectrum (UV-C rays) activates the photocatalytic process allowing the titanium dioxide to leverage its photocatalytic characteristics.



It uses the broad-spectrum UV light that reacts with a thin film of titanium dioxide which, in the presence of water, generates hydroxyl radicals and superoxide ions that "burn" the microorganisms accumulated on the catalyst surface. The photocatalytic efficiency depends on several parameters: the number and temporal stability of the photo-generated charge carriers, the balance of absorption/desorption, the type of reaction, the distance to the TiO2 surface, the extremely short duration of the hydroxyl radical and the air and water currents or dust that may diminish the effectiveness of radiation.

ZnO - Zinc Oxide, CeO2 - Cerium Oxide

ZnS - Zinc sulfide, etc., using a common UV lamp and the equipment is presented as "air purifier."


These assemblies, very approximate, can cause a partial decomposition of VOC in the air stream with a production of formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, formic acid and acetic acid.


Both formaldehyde and acetaldehyde are recognized as important toxic agents in a closed environment.
